Celebrate Auburn - October 11

The Piedmont Environmental Council invites you to Celebrate Auburn: A commemoration of the 145th Anniversary of the Battle of Coffee Hill on Saturday, October the 11th from noon until 5PM.
This free event will be held in conjunction with the Fauquier Fall Farm Tour. Activities will include: A Civil War encampment, talks by local experts on the Battle of Auburn and Fauquier’s role in the Civil War by the Mosby Players, talks and tours by the Warrenton Antiquarian Society about Weston, period games for children given by the Out of Time Teachers, displays of local Civil War artifacts, a sustainable forestry demonstration by the Green Man Forest Management group, and music by the Shenandoah Travelers! Food is available for purchase from Hog Wild Barbeque or people are encouraged to bring their own picnic to eat on Weston’s lawn. In addition, Rogers Ford Winery will be sampling their varietals and local soap and honey vendors will be present.
Directions from Warrenton: Take Meetze Road south out of town for 5.2 miles. Turn left onto Casanova Road (route 616) for 1 mile. At bend in road, make a left onto Weston Road (route 747) and follow into Weston.
