Rush hour crash kills Centreville man
A 69-year-old Centreville man died in a crash Nov. 19 on Route 50 near Middleburg that shut the road down in both directions for more than two hours.
Syan Trilochan-Singh was driving a 2003 Lincoln Town Car east on Route 50 just east of Middleburg when a 2005 Toyota Prius driven by William E. Albers, 66, of Middleburg, crossed his path, and the two vehicles collided.
Albers was trying to turn out of a private driveway on the south side of Route 50 onto Route 50 west, Loudoun County Sheriff's spokesman Kraig Troxell said.
Trilochan-Singh was taken to Inova Loudoun Medical Center in Leesburg where he died from his injuries, Troxell said.
Albers and his juvenile passengers were also taken to Inova Loudoun Medical Center, where they were treated and released, Troxell said.
Police believe everyone involved in the crash was wearing a seatbelt, and Trilochan-Singh's front airbag deployed, Troxell said.
The crash remains under investigation, and charges are pending, Troxell said.
