Convicted sex offender accused of new offense

On July 7, Leesburg Police charged a 39-year-old Leesburg man with aggravated sexual battery of a child younger than 13.

Police did not give any details about the incident that prompted the arrest.

David Theodore Schneider was already on the Virginia Sex Offender Registry after pleading guilty to one count of aggravated sexual battery in November 1992 when he lived in Virginia Beach.

Schneider is held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.

According to the sex offender registry, he lived on Washington Street NE and worked at Auto Advantage of Virginia in Leesburg at the time of his arrest.
