The following is a list of upcoming productions and auditions in the Loudoun-Fairfax area: Productions - 'Sunshine Boys.' The BITWC-Imagine That!! Dinner Theatre at Magnolias at the Mill in Purcellville presents "The Sunshine Boys" by Neil Simon and directed by Marian Sweet Wednesday, Jan. 14. Dinner is at 6 p.m., performance at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $65 for dinner, show, tax and tip. For reservations, call 540-554-8889.'Thumbelina and the Dance of the Rose Fairy Princess.' Footloose Dance Studio of Purcellville will perform "Thumbelina and the Dance of the Rose Fairy Princess" Saturday, Jan. 31, and Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Franklin Park Arts Center, 36441 Blueridge View Lane in Purcellville. 'Macbeth.' Not Just Shakespeare will perform "Macbeth" Feb. 13-Feb. 22, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m., at the Franklin Park Arts Center, 36441 Blueridge View Lane in Purcellville. Master Singers. The Master Singers of Virginia, one of Northern Virginia’s premiere a cappella choral ensembles, is in its 14th season, with the following productions planned:
Feb. 21, Feb. 28, March 1: Poulenc’s “Mass in G,” “Prayers of St. Francis of Assisi,” “Petites Voix.” Also folk songs from England.
April 18-19, April 25: Britten’s choral dances from “Gloriana,” Byrd’s “Mass for Five Voices.” Also sets of songs of Shakespeare texts, including music by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Frank Martin, Jaakko Mantyjarvi.
Tickets bought in advance are $15, seniors and students $12; tickets at the door cost $2 more. Season tickets are $38, seniors and students $30. Performances will be at Our Savior’s Way Lutheran Church in Ashburn, The Franklin Park Center for the Performing and Visual Arts in Purcellville, Saint Luke Catholic Church in McLean and Church of the Redeemer in McLean. 'Elixir of Love.' Loudoun Lyric Opera offers Gaetano Donizetti's “L'Elisir d'Amore” ("The Elixir of Love") in concert with the Loudoun Symphony Orchestra Saturday, March 14, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 15, at 4 p.m. in the auditorium of Heritage High School, 520 Evergreen Mill Road in Leesburg. Tickets are $25 at the door; seniors, subscribers and advance tickets $20; students 18 and younger free. Season tickets are $40. Auditions
International Youth Orchestra. International Youth Orchestra auditions will be held by appointment only, Saturday, Feb. 14, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Woods Recreation Center, 44020 Louisa Drive in Ashburn. Audition requirements include a 2/3 octave scale, one medium to advanced repertoire piece (not necessarily by memory) and sight reading. Positions are available for ages 10-17 in violin, viola, cello, string bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, French horn and percussion. Scholarships will be granted to principal chairs. The annual International Youth Orchestra meeting takes place June 30-July 5 in Leesburg for the fifth year. Chorus of the Old Dominion. The Loudoun Chorus of the Old Dominion is recruiting men to sing. Rehearsals are Thursday nights at the Leesburg United Methodist Church.
