Politics: state leaders ask for input
State leaders ask for inputBefore the General Assembly convenes for its 2009 session, representatives from Loudoun's delegation will meet with residents to listen to their concerns.
Loudoun's state representatives will meet Jan. 8 at the County Government Center at 1 Harrison St. in Leesburg, beginning at 7 p.m. in the supervisors' board room for an input session.
Sign-ups to speak will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Tele-town hall meeting
Before heading to Richmond for the General Assembly session that starts Jan. 14, Sen. Jill Holtzman Vogel (R-western Loudoun) is hosting a tele-town hall meeting Jan. 7 beginning at 7 p.m. to hear residents' concerns.
The town hall meeting will be conducted by phone. Those who join can participate via cell phone or land line.

Wolf wants input
Donna Crowley, a representative for Congressman Frank Wolf (R-10th District), will be visiting locations around the county Jan. 8 to listen to constituents' concerns.
Crowley will be at the Round Hill town office 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the Ashburn post office 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and at the Sterling post office 1-2 p.m.
Constituents also may call Crowley at 800-850-3463 or 540-667-0990, or visit Wolf's district office at 110 N. Cameron St. in Winchester.
Job change
Virginia's Deputy Secretary of Transportation, Barbara Reese, has been appointed as Gov. Tim Kaine's new deputy policy director.
“Barbara Reese has been a critical and central member of my staff in the Department of Transportation,” Kaine said. “She will continue to lead my efforts to secure rail service to Dulles International Airport, and she also brings a wealth of experience and accomplishment to her new job.”
Reese began serving as deputy secretary of transportation in 2007 and has been a state government employee since the 1980s.
