Lucketts FairThe Lucketts Fair's famous ice cream can be had only one weekend a year, and it's coming up Saturday-Sunday, Aug. 22-23, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The fair has been a fixture since 1972. Besides ice cream, it offers crafts, bluegrass music, antiques, down-home food and old-fashioned family fun. The motto is “Fresh squeezed fun with home-grown flavor.” It will be held rain or shine at the Lucketts Community Center, off U.S. 15, 8 miles north of Leesburg. Admission is $5, 6 and younger free. Charity with a splash
A Free Family Day at the Downpour water park in Sterling combines charity with fun – bring a new or gently used backpack and your family gets in free Sunday, Aug. 23, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Downpour water park is in Algonkian Regional Park, 47001 Fairway Drive, Sterling. Trains galore

Greenberg's Train and Toy show is chugging toward Chantilly, arriving Aug. 22, and staying through Sunday, Aug. 23. More than 60,000 square feet of operating toy railroads and trains in a variety of sizes and scales will be on display and for sale, including one for children to play with. How-to demonstrations and clinics will be offered throughout the weekend. Hobbyists can bring trains for appraisal. The show is 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days at the Dulles Expo Center at 4368 Chantilly Shopping Center. Admission is $7, good for both days.
