 The following are upcoming productions and auditions in the Loudoun-Fairfax area. - Productions - "Brighton Beach Memoirs.' Imagine That!! Theatre presents "Brighton Beach Memoirs" by Neil Simon April 29-30 and May 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Franklin Park Visual and Performing Arts Center, 36441 Blueridge View Lane in Purcellville. Dessert theater. Pieces of Eight Theatre Company presents Robert Patrick's "My Cup Runneth Over" Friday-Saturday, May 1-2, 8-10 p.m., at Round Hill Arts Center, 6 W. 'Twelfth Night.' The Eden Troupe of Patrick Henry College in Purcellville will perform "Twelfth Night" Friday-Sunday, May 1-3 at Harmony Intermediate School, 38174 W. Colonial Highway, Hamilton. This is a modern restaging, setting Shakespeare's classic in New York City. Performances are at 7 p.m. each day, with a matinee Saturday at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for students at the evening performances; $8 for adults, $6 for students and children at the matinee. 'Crazy for You.' Pickwick Players presents the Gershwin musical comedy "Crazy for You" May 8-9, and May 15-16 at 7:30 p.m., and May 9 and May 16 at 2 p.m at Riverbend Middle School at 46240 Algonkian Parkway in Sterling. The Tony Award-winning tale appeals to audiences of all ages. The high-energy comedy includes mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous tap dance and classic Gershwin tunes, such as “Embraceable You” and “I Got Rhythm.” Advance tickets are $11 for adults, $9 for seniors and children (12 and younger) and an additional $1 at the door. 'Reflection.' The Hill Play House at the Sheila C. Johnson Performing Arts Center Theater offers the premier of “Reflection” May 15-16 at 7:30 p.m. and May 17 at 2 p.m. at the Hill Playhouse, 130 S. Madison St. in Middleburg.

This is a new show about beauty and body image in the lives of women. The 14 cast members range in age from 10 to 70 and hail from all over the Washington metropolitan area.

There will be a post-performance discussion Saturday, May 16, focusing on breaking the connection between physical beauty and self-worth.

Therapists, nutritionists, body image counselors, fitness professionals and artists will be in the lobby offering information, tools and resources.

This production is made possible by a grant from the Ella Lyman Cabot Trust and the Hill Playhouse.

Auditions


'Throughly Modern Millie.' Sterling Playmakers will hold auditions for "Throughly Modern Millie" Friday, May 1, 7-9:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 2, 1-4 p.m., at the Cascades Senior Center, 21060 Whitfield Place, Sterling.

Actors are needed to play characters who can appear to be age 18 and older.

"Millie," set in New York City during the age of flappers and jazz, is produced by Angela Hepola and Kimberly Fry and directed by Terry DiMurro. Performances will be weekends, July 31-Aug. 16 at Potomac Falls High School. Cast members must join Playmakers at $10 per household per year. One-act play festival. The Sterling Playmakers will hold auditions for a Ten Minute One Act Play Festival Friday, May 8, 7-9 p.m., and Saturday, May 9, 1-3 p.m. at the Sterling Community Center, 120 Enterprise St., Sterling.

Several directors, under artistic director Joe Campanella, will be casting their plays, and everyone age 16 and older who shows up will be cast. There will be many roles in comedy, drama and fantasy, and actors may request more than one role (if available).

'Disney's Aladdin Jr.' Sterling Playmakers will be holding auditions Friday, May 15, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m. for the workshop/production of "Disney's Aladdin Jr." Auditions will be at Sterling Middle School, 201 W. Holly Ave. The Playmakers will be casting roles for ages 8 to 18.

This production, based on the Disney animated movie, is produced by Lora Buckman and directed by Kathy Bleutge. The workshop and rehearsals will begin June 22 and run 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. each day for three weeks. Performances will be July 10-12 and July 17-19 at Sterling Middle School. 'The King and I.' Middleburg Players is holding open auditions for its summer production of "The King and I" May 16, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Buchanan Hall, 8549 John Mosby Highway, Upperville.

The cast requires four men; three women; two teen boys; a chorus of men, women and children ages 5 and older; and six dancers who may, but do not need to, sing.

Participants are asked to prepare 16 bars of a Broadway song and bring the score. An accompanist will be available.

Rehearsals will begin in early June and will be in Upperville or Middleburg. Performances will be July 17-19 and July 24-26 at Buchanan Hall.

Chorus of the Old Dominion. The Loudoun Chorus of the Old Dominion is recruiting men singers. Rehearsals are Thursday nights at the Leesburg United Methodist Church.
