Class Acts

The following is a list of ongoing classes in Loudoun County. The list includes everything from dance to needlework classes.

Theater


'Creating Characters.' Musical theater workshop by the Growing Stage Theatre Company. May 24. Lucketts Community Center, 42361 Lucketts Road. $50. Ages 15 and older explore the world of crafting original characters. Visit www.growingstage.org .


Nature


'Snakes: Local & Exotic.' Saturday, May 24, 1-2:30 p.m. Smithsonian Naturalist Center, 741 Miller Drive, Suite G-2, Leesburg. Zoologist George Zug, former curator of herpetology at the National Museum of Natural History and co-author of "Snakes: Smithsonian Answer Book," discusses snake anatomy and biology and snake-human interactions. Integrative medicine The following health classes will take place 6:30-8 p.m. at the Integrative Family Medical Center, 116-Q Edwards Ferry Road in Leesburg. Admission is free.

  • June 3: Lifestyle and Wellness support group's brief lecture on nutrition.

Visual arts

Plein aire painting. Watercolor artist Catherine Hillis is offering a class in plein aire painting at outdoor locations in May and June. Students will be taught how to compose a landscape and develop it into a painting. For all levels.
