Bulldogs shine at Liberty track meet

Stone Bridge produced a pair of top team finishes at the Liberty District meet May 15-16 at Thomas Jefferson High School in Alexandria.

The Bulldog girls won the eight-team meet with 130 points, 34 more than runner-up Langley High of McLean. The Bulldogs boys scored 93 points to finish second behind South Lakes (115).

Stephanie Paradis and Naomi Session each turned in outstanding meets for Stone Bridge.

Paradis won the 800-meter run (2:21.3) and 1,600 run (5:11.33). Session claimed top honors in the 100 hurdles (15.68) and was second in the 300 hurdles and long jump.

Paradis also joined Caroline Snell, Megan Dunne and Casey Henderson in winning the 3,200 relay in 9:29.37. Chelsea Robinson struck gold in the triple jump (37-1.5), and Haley Springman placed second in the discus.

Daniel Allen and Andre Best led the Bulldog boys' charge on the track. Allen paced the field in the 100 dash (11.04) and was second in the 200 dash. Best placed second in both hurdle events.

Best, Allen, Tyler Smith and Sean Kinnebrew captured the 400 relay title in 43.54. Kinnebrew also was a runner-up in the triple jump.

Stone Bridge also held down the top two spots in the shot put, with Trevor Springman (49-8.75) winning the event and David Wang collecting second.
