Inova promotion
James Rohrbaugh has been named assistant vice president of operations and chief growth officer at Inova Health System.
Rohrbaugh will oversee security, plant operations and guest services as well as the Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leesburg.
He also will oversee clinical services at Inova Loudoun Medical Campus in Leesburg and be the primary contact for the revitalization of the former Cornwall Campus and planned medical services in Lovettsville, Purcellville and Middleburg.
Cornerstone Award
Ava Abramowitz, a construction lawyer in Leesburg, was awarded the 2008 Cornerstone Award by the American Bar Association's Forum on the Construction Industry.
The award is given to those who have long-term, exceptional service to the construction industry, public and legal profession in furthering state goals and purposes of the forum.
Abramowitz is the 17th recipient of the award since its inception in 1995.
Lawyer group VP
Leesburg attorney Barbara Williams was elected vice president of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and will take office March 30.
The Virginia Trial Lawyers Association is a voluntary bar association for more than 2,600 trial lawyers.
Williams, who specializes in personal injury and wrongful death cases, is on the faculty of the Virginia College of Trial Advocacy at William and Mary Marshall-Wythe School of Law.
New officers elected
Middleburg Financial Corp. has elected three new directors to its board of directors and to the board of its subsidiary, Middleburg Bank. The newly elected directors are J. Bradley Davis, Alexander G. Green III and Gary D. LeClair.
Davis is the founder and managing partner of Ridge Capital Partners LLC, a financial services company with private equity, real estate and money management groups based in Middleburg.
Green is president of Armfield, Harrison & Thomas Inc., the eighth-largest insurance broker/agent in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
LeClair is the co-founder and chairman of the law firm LeClairRyan, headquartered in Richmond.
Buyer accredited
Phillip R. Butterfass, contracting officer for Loudoun County, has been accredited as a Certified Professional Public Buyer. The National Institute of Governmental Purchasing Inc. administers the program under the auspices of the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council.
Butterfass joined the Loudoun County Procurement staff in August 2005. In his position with the county, he is responsible for the procurement of a wide array of goods and services, including fire and rescue apparatus, vehicles, landfill heavy equipment and janitorial services.
He is an active member of the Virginia Association of Governmental Purchasing and the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing.
