Varsity recaps: March 18 games

Lindsey Holtz tossed her fourth consecutive complete game as Loudoun County improved to 4-0 this softball season with a 7-6 victory over Liberty.

Rochelle Latka tripled, scored a run and drove in two more for the Raiders. Megan Lindsey, Erin Ertel and Rachel Wigfield each had two hits and Lindsey Packard delivered a run-scoring double.


Baseball

Stone Bridge 15, Robert E. Lee 0: Bulldog pitcher Tyler Basso struck out nine and allowed just one hit in six innings of work. Patrick Thompson blasted two home runs and drove in four. Johnny Bladel and Michael Prince combined for five RBIs.

Stone Bridge 10, West Potomac 1: The Bulldogs received their second strong pitching effort of the day as Nick Fialdini struck out seven and allowed just an unearned run on two hits. Johnny Bladel homered twice and had four RBIs.

Broad Run 12, Norfolk Christian 0: Cole Shain went the distance on the mound, striking out five and surrendering three hits. Ryan Diviney led the Spartan offense with five RBIs. Tyler Small drove in three runs and Trey Brocke scored three times.
