GSA thrift store open in Ashburn

The Good Shepherd Alliance has opened the doors to its new thrift store, Hope's Treasures, in Ashburn.

A grand opening for the store, in Ashburn Square Plaza, 20630 Ashburn Road Suite 183, was March 12 at 11 a.m. The store is at a temporary location for the next two months before it moves into GSA's new Center of Hope in Ashburn this spring.

The store is now open customers Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hope's Treasures sells antique collectibles and a mix of new and old upscale items.

The store also features items from the Greater Gift program, sponsored by SERRV International, a nonprofit alternative trading organization that works with thousands of small-scale artisans and farmers in Africa, Asia, Latin America and other developing regions of the world.

The handmade products are also made by people experiencing poverty in the United States.

Other things for sale at the store include racks of new clothing, a huge selection of home-school teaching materials, craft items, furniture and retired Longaberger baskets.

Each item is unlike any other found in Loudoun County.

The store cannot accept donations. To donate or for more information on Good Shepherd Alliance, visit www.LoudounHomeless.org.
