Slain woman's car found in New Mexico

Leesburg Police remain hesitant to release many details in the slaying of a 66-year-old woman July 24 on Golden Larch Terrace.

A car reported stolen from the victim's house was found July 28 in New Mexico, and two people were arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Leesburg Police spokesman Lt. Jeff Dube said.

A relative found Hanh Hoang, 66, dead July 24 in an upstairs bedroom in the 200 block of the townhouse community off Ft. Evans Road.

The relative called police from the house, and the Leesburg Police Department arrived about 5 p.m., Dube said.

Investigators were searching for a four-door 2005 blue Honda Accord with Virginia registration KFL-3707. This car was reported stolen from the house, Dube said.

Sheriff Benjie Virgil and members of the San Miguel Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State Police arrested Kimphoung T. Dong, 39, and Julie T. Dong, 18, both of Leesburg, Dube said.

Dube would not say whether the two arrested are related to Hoang or if they lived in the house with her.

He also would not say if they are persons of interest in Hoang's murder.

Hoang's body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Fairfax County. Police and the medical examiner have not released a cause of death yet.

Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to call 703-771-4500. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the Leesburg Crimeline at 703-443-TIPS.
