Update: Vehicle stolen from scene of homicide recovered in New Mexico

A car reported stolen from the scene of a homicide on Golden Larch Terrace July 25 has been recovered in New Mexico, Leesburg Police spokesman Lt. Jeff Dube said.

Two people are being held on Virginia warrants charging them with felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Dube said.

At about 5 p.m. July 24, officers from the Leesburg Police Department were called to the 200 block of Golden Larch Terrace, Dube said.

Hanh Hoang, 66, was found dead in an upstairs bedroom. Police immediately began investigating, Dube said.

Investigators were searching for a four-door 2005 blue Honda Accord with Virginia registration KFL-3707. This car was reported stolen from the house, Dube said.

Sheriff Benjie Virgil and members of the San Miguel Sheriff’s Office and New Mexico State Police arrested two occupants of the vehicle without incident, Dube said.

Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call 703-771-4500. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call the Leesburg Crimeline at 703-443-TIPS.
