Memorial service planned for teen

A memorial service will be held for 19-year-old Peter Johannes Cathcart Vold July 15 at 7 p.m. at the Little River Baptist Church in Aldie.

Vold was found dead in the parking lot of Little River Elementary School in South Riding early June 18. Autopsy results have not been released.

Vold attended Freedom High School and Monroe Technology Center before withdrawing in April. He spent his freshman year at Loudoun County High School when Freedom was not yet open.

His parents, Leita and Harvard Vold, and his younger brother, Andrew, moved to Charleston, S.C., in May, but Peter Vold remained in Loudoun, family friend Stacia Frye said.

Vold was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, then spent a year in Wiesbaden, Germany, before moving to Loudoun in 2004. He was a dual citizen of Norway and the United States.

Vold loved the outdoors and spent lots of summer days on his grandfather's farm in rural Norway exploring the land and going fishing. He will be buried on the farm in Norway, Frye said.

Little River Baptist Church is at 40385 Braddock Road in Aldie. Anyone who would like more information can e-mail raginwillie@aol.com.
