Loudoun towns' big ticket budget items
Leesburg
Some of the town's big-ticket items under its capital improvements budget are about $20 million for Battlefield Parkway, about $10 million for improvements to Ida Lee Park and Recreation Center – of which $7 million is allocated for an outdoor pool – and nearly $10 million for trails. These projects are a part of Leesburg's 2009-2013 improvements plan. Total funding for all plans is $176.2 million.
Hamilton
The town's main projects are upgrading and repairing water pipes, bringing Well 14 into the water system and repairing sidewalks.
Lovettsville
The top five projects on Lovettsville's Capital Improvements Plan are streetscape improvements to Broad Way and South Loudoun Street, construction of a bike path network through town, construction of a new Town Hall and construction of two small parks in the Town Center.
Middleburg
The town allocated $30,000 for street improvements to Liberty and Federal streets, about $16,000 for improvements to the town office building on West Marshall Street and $25,000 for the purchase of a new street department vehicle.
Purcellville
The budget earmarks $3.5 million to build a new maintenance facility, $1.2 million to develop water resources to support the long-term development of the town, and $21.9 million to improve and expand the Basham Simms Wastewater Facility.
Round Hill
The town has allocated $80,000 for the Franklin Park Trail and $113,000 for the Main Street-New Cut Road project. One of the town's big ticket items is a new water tower at Stoneleigh, which will serve the entire water system.
