School, Sept. 11 remembrance, a centennial band parade and Paws to Read

By Marge Kraft

School time: Alas, summer has come to an end. School is starting right after Labor Day this year. Best wishes for a great year!

Sept. 11 remembrance: A remembrance event will be held Sept. 11 at the Purcellville Skating Rink at 7 p.m.

Centennial band parade: The Centennial celebration continues Sept. 20 with a Tournament Band Parade to the Loudoun Valley High School with a High School Band Tournament from 2-5 p.m. at the school. For more information on these and other Town of Purcellville events check out the Purcellville Web site or call the town office at 540-338-7421.

Paws to Read: Register your child to go to the Purcellville Library Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m., and read to a therapy dog. This fosters confidence and a love of reading. The event is for ages 5-10. For more info, check out the Web site, www.lcpl.lib.va.us.
