Music at winery, art exhibit, author talk, horse show, point-to-point and an antiques show

Music at winery: Boo Snider will be performing some of his original songs along with all of your favorites from the '50s to the '70s at Swedenburg Winery on Saturday, Aug. 31. He will start at 2 p.m. and play until around 5 p.m. Stop by and enjoy your favorite wine while enjoying the countryside.

Art exhibit: The National Sporting Gallery is hosting “The Voss Family: Artists of American Sporting Life” beginning Aug. 29 and running until Feb. 28, 2009. This is free to the public.

Author talk: Author Vicky Moon will talk about her new book “Equestrian Style: Home Design, Couture and Collections From the Eclectic to the Elegant” on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. at the National Sporting Gallery. Please RSVP by calling Judy at 540-687-6548.

Horse shoe: Fox Chase Farm will be hosting the final show for the $12,000 Timothy C. Hanley Fox Chase Horse Show Series 2008 on Saturday, Sept. 13. The outside arena will start at 8 a.m. The top three riders will be awarded and the top five trainers will be announced. For more details, log onto www.foxchasefarm.net.

Point-to-point: Also on Sept., 13 beginning at 12:30 p.m., the Thornton Hill Hounds Point-to-Point will be held in Sperryville. For more details, call 540-987-8346.
