Local lettuce stars on 'Emeril Green'

By Shannon Sollinger

Lettuce and herbs from Loudoun's own Endless Summer Harvest in Round Hill have a starring role in an October airing of Discovery Channel's "Planet Green."

Endless Summer Harvest's Mary Ellen Taylor met with chef Emeril Lagasse at the Fair Oaks Whole Foods Market Aug. 18 to film an episode of "Emeril Green."

Each "Emeril Green" episode, shot on location at Whole Foods Markets, leads viewers through the preparation of great dishes with high quality seasonal produce, seafood and meats. "Planet Green" airs on COMCAST (113), Verizon FiOS (148) and DirecTV (286).

Fresh greens from the hydroponic greenhouses of Endless Summer Harvest are available year round at Whole Foods in Fair Oaks, Tysons and Vienna; at year-round farmers markets at Dupont Circle, H Street and Penn Quarter in the District of Columbia; and at year-round farmers markets in Leesburg, Falls Church and Arlington in Virginia. The greens are also on the menu at Tuscarora Mill in Leesburg and Magnolias at the Mill in Purcellville.
