Welcoming Virginia Vis, Weston Krauss arrives and Albert Ward celebrates

By Betty Shiflett

Welcoming Virginia Vis: There have been 11 postmasters in Paeonian Springs since Obed Pierpoint served in that position in 1892. Number 12 (Virginia Vis) came on board here officially Aug. 16. Numbers 10 (Tammi Lam) and 11 (Tara Bariteau) were short-timers. Virginia is no stranger to Paeonian, since she served here as officer-in-charge twice in the last two years, and in the same position in Orlean. She has worked as a sales and service associate numerous places in Loudoun County and Herndon as well. This animal lover has two horses stabled in Hamilton, and two dogs and a cat. She loves gardening and is impressed and pleased with the vegetables people keep bringing to the post office. Virginia is excited to be working in Paeonian; she's been trying for years to get this post. Pun intended. Congratulations, Virginia. We're glad you're here.

Weston Krauss arrives: Congratulations to the Leigh and Krauss families. Mark and Roxanne Leigh Krauss, Grandma Belle, aunts, uncles, cousins and big sister, Camdyn, welcomed Weston Mark Krauss into the fold Aug. 6. He's a healthy boy, and everybody is doing fine.

Albert Ward celebrates: Birthday greetings next Monday to Albert Ward, who will be 98 years old. We're happy that Albert's hospital and Heritage Hall stays weren't extremely long and that he's back home for his birthday.

Thought for the Day: "It's choice, not chance that determines your destiny."
