Groups that will use Ashburn sports complex announced

Developer Play to Win LLC, which wants to build a large sports complex in Ashburn, released Aug. 18 the names of several organizations that will use the facility.

Some of the organizations include Loudoun Soccer, the Northern Virginia Football Club, Brazilian Touch Soccer, the Washington Glory, a women’s professional fast-pitch softball team and Love Thy Neighbor -- a nonprofit founded by a former NFL player Troy Vincent that strives to build safer and healthier communities.

The Board of Supervisors is supposed to discuss next month the proposal for the 40-acre, multi-field complex, which is slated to be built along Belmont Ridge Road near Route 7

Dulles connection

Construction is scheduled to begin this month on a ramp that will give motorists heading east on the Dulles Greenway direct access to Washington Dulles International Airport.

Currently, eastbound motorists have to exit onto Route 28 to get to the airport.

The ramp should be open to traffic by April, according to Greenway owners Toll Road Investors Partnership II.
