State Farm Insurance has opened a new office at 45593 Shepard Drive, Suite 201, Sterling. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

CVS has opened at 24795 Pinebrook Road in South Riding. The store is open 8 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week and has a full-service pharmacy.

Middleburg Bank, Circuit City and Five Below all have opened in Fort Evans Plaza, Leesburg.

Forbes.com has ranked Virginia the Best State for Business. This is the third consecutive year Virginia has been top-ranked. It has won since the inception of the ranking in 2006.

Nova Medical honored

Nova Medical, which includes Nova Medical Group, Nova Urgent Care and The Medical Spa at Nova, has been awarded the Environmental Excellence Partner Recognition Award from Practice Greenhealth for its environmental efforts.

Froots Smoothies new owner

Leesburg's Froots Smoothies in Lansdowne has a new owner, Tani Patel. Patel also owns the Froots Smoothies in Ashburn.

Menu items include smoothies, juices, shakes, salads and wraps. The store is open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays.
