Brambleton lemonade stands to raise money for cancer research
Brambleton Kids CAN, a Brambleton youth group, will join the fight against childhood cancer by hosting two Alex's Lemonade Stands on Aug. 21 at the Brambleton Summer Concert Series.
The concert is from 7 to 9 p.m. at 22875 Brambleton Town Center Plaza.
Brambleton Kids CAN is a group of elementary and middle school children who are looking to make a difference in the lives of others.
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation was created from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra Scott, of Pennsylvania, who died in 2004 at the age of 4.
Alex said she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to help find a cure for all children with cancer.
Since then, the foundation has raised more than $20 million toward fighting cancer.
