Police search for man involved in Leesburg crash

A man about 25 years old is wanted in connection with an Aug. 9 crash on the Route 7 Bypass near West Market Street in Leesburg.

About 3:30 p.m., Leesburg Police officers were called to the scene of a single-car crash on the bypass, spokesman Lt. Wes Thompson said.

They found a 1992 BMW sedan that had rolled over several times.

Witnesses said the car was speeding eastbound when the driver lost control. Two passengers were thrown from the car and were flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital. Another passenger was taken to Inova medical center in Leesburg.

The driver fled the scene, Thompson said.

Police have not found the driver yet and are asking for help from the public.

His name is Roosvelt Illesca-Romero, Thompson said. He is listed as a missing/endangered person and could be trying to get help at a local hospital, Thompson said.

Anyone who saw the crash or has seen Illesca-Romero is asked to call Detective Holzerland at 703-771-4510.
