Apple Blossom Festival: The 81st annual Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival takes place throughout the town of Winchester May 2-4. The three days of events are the culmination of festivities that began in January with the Miss Apple Blossom Festival Pageant. The weekend activities include a parade, Cole Brothers Circus, all kinds of music, firefighters' visits, a sports breakfast, a 10K race, a street show and a country music party. Events Friday start at 8 a.m. and end with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Festivities Saturday start at 8 a.m. and end with country music, a square dance and a rock'n'roll dance at 8 p.m. Sunday's events are from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The theme this year is Get Bloomed.
