Stone Bridge Wins State Football Championship

Congratulations to the Football AAA Division 5 State Champion's, the Stone Bridge Bulldogs!  They held the 'high-powered' Potomac Panthers scoreless in a 38-0 rout at Scott Stadium on Saturday. There were may highlights for the Bulldogs on both offense and defense. The Bulldogs had many fans to cheer them on.  Coach Mickey Thompson succumbed to the traditional Gatorade 'dunking' with over three minutes left in the game.  This was Coadh Thompson's third trip to the championship game and his first victory. For Loudoun County Schools, this was only our second state championship in football. Next year our ten high school will have teams in two different leagues.

The only downside to the game was that the Stone Bridge Marching Band didn't perform at half-time.. Guess they'll need another chance next year!
