CFF Walk: Steps in the right direction

What are you doing Sunday, May 18, say around 9 a.m.? Are you free? Do you want to make the best possible use of your time?

That day, the annual Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) “Great Strides” Walk will be held in Leesburg, starting at Loudoun County High School. The round-trip walk covers almost six miles along the W&OD trail.

The walkers are doing a wonderful thing to fight an awful disease. Cystic fibrosis is a life-threatening, inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.

Just last September, the people who started the Leesburg walk, Eric and Pam Stewart, lost their precious daughter, Megan, to the disease. She was a beautiful, smart, lively girl, and she was only 15 years old.

It is their hope, and the hope of all the other families involved in the walk, that no other person has to lose their life to CF. One big way to make this a reality is to raise money for research – to find a cure, once and for all.

Why not consider joining the fight? You can show your support by walking and obtaining sponsors, making a personal contribution, or both.

Can you think of a better place to be on the 18th?
